How to clean paint stain from floor?

Here is the thing, this is not really a DIY if you want to be certain to avoid damage to the carpet. There are just too many variables from my desk...type of carpet, color of carpet, age of carpet, amount of paint, color of paint, and is the paint oil or water based?
My best advice is to call a respectable carpet cleaner instead of tackling this yourself. It probably wouldn't cost more than $100 and that should include the whole room carpet cleaning.
